Née à Tokyo, Japon, elle commence à jouer du basson à l’âge de 12 ans dans l’orchestre d’harmonie du collège. Ensuite elle a étudié avec Prof. Koji Okazaki à l’université de musique Musashino à Tokyo et participé à l'Asian Youth Orchestra ainsi qu’aux Music Masters Cours Japan.
En 2010, à son arrivée en France, elle a étudié dans la classe de Prof. Laurent Lefèvre où elle a aussi appris à fabriquer des anches. En 2013 après avoir obtenu le diplôme de concertiste au CRR de Paris, elle participe au Département de Formation à l’Orchestre sous la direction Prof. Gilbert Audin. Elle a ensuite étudié dans la classe de Prof. Lola Descours au CRR de Saint-Maur-des-Fossés.
Après 2 ans de travail à l’atelier Tout pour le hautbois, en 2019 elle crée Les anches d’Ayumi tout en continuant de jouer en freelance. Désormais se situe à la ville compagne environ une heure de Paris en train.
Ayumi Shimada
東京都生まれ。12歳の頃から吹奏楽部にてファゴットを始める。武蔵野音楽大学にて岡崎耕治氏に師事。アジアユースオーケストラ、ミュージック・マスターズ・コース・ジャパンに参加し、オーケストラへの興味を深める。
2010年渡仏。パリ地方音楽院、ローラン・ルフェーブル氏のもとで研鑽を積み、リード作りを基礎から学ぶ。2013年、コンサーティスト課程ディプロム取得。その後ジルベール・オダン氏指導の下、オーケストラ科に在籍。卒業後はサンモール市音楽院にてローラ・デスクール氏に師事する。
2年間のアトリエ・ギース勤務を経て、2019年 Les anches d’Ayumi を設立。フリーランス奏者として演奏活動をする傍ら、リード作りに従事している。パリから電車で１時間ほどの、のどかな田舎街に在住。
Born in Tokyo, I started playing the bassoon when I was twelve. After studying under Koji Okazaki at Musashino Academy of Music, I took part in Asian Youth Orchestra and Music Masters Course Japan, and developed further my interest in playing for orchestras.
Moving to France in 2010, I studied under Laurent Lefèvre at the CRR de Paris and learned reed making from the basics. Awarded a Concertist Diploma, I studied under Gilbert Audin and was enrolled in the Orchestral Performance Department. Subsequently, I studied under Lola Descours at the CRR de Saint-Maur-des Fossés.
After two years of experience at Atelier Ghys, Les anches d’Ayumi was establised in 2019. I make reeds when I’m not playing the bassoon as a freelance musician. I am currently based in a country side one hour from Paris by train.
